One Nightstand

You Don't Love This Man by Dan DeWeese

I picked up this novel by Portland author Dan DeWeese at an indie bookselling event last month, and it’s the best, most memorable thing I’ve read recently. Narrated by a hapless middle-aged banker searching for his daughter on her wedding day (he’s the kind of guy who does the cha-cha-cha but only when no one is looking), it’s deftly both wry and tender—and a little mysterious. Sorry, civilians, this one doesn’t come out until March (from Harper Perennial).
