    My favorite book of 2011 was Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese. Definitely not a Pacific NW book, but excellent. For the PNW side, Mink River by Brian Doyle and Birds of Paradise by Diana Abu-Jaber were good finds. I learned about this site in the Holiday Books guide which I picked up at Paulina Springs Books in Redmond, OR, and will check it often.
